Customer: CEO multinational
It is great when your people say that you do things well, but this CEO only noticed the opposite. Whenever he gave a presentation everybody always said how fantastic it was. When he asked for feedback nobody in his team dared to give it. When sharing parts of his vision of the future he also felt he stood alone. How do I get a transparent culture in my organisation? To do this I am looking for someone who can spar with me on a monthly basis about various business subjects. Not only to listen but also to actively think along and provide solutions.
The first step was to give the customer insight into his own behaviour and why his team did not communicate openly with him. Then, after individual interviews were conducted with members of the team, points of attention were determined. These were used as a basis for a few following strategy and focus sessions taken from the "Neuland methodology". By coupling this with team building, a lasting 'step change' in the team was reached.
The links between the CEO and his team became open and sincere again. Together, they developed a strategy and focus that in the following year, led to the best company results ever!
Customer: International retailer
This company wanted to optimize its strategy with a concrete action plan in which every department would participate. In spite of repeated attempts, the plans came no further than paper versions. A good thought-through plan was needed but also enthusiasm and commitment.
Via Business in Person own developed methodology, we first started with a 5C analysis where every MT member can let his own vision been seen. "Out of the box" thinking was stimulated by use of a business game. In doing so I had taken inspiration from other parts of world industry. Acting as both facilitator and sparring partner I continued to challenge them to dare to make solid choices.
A strategy (as a one-pager) that provides focus and clear direction where clear actions with key performance indicators and the organisation culture are fixed.
This retailer had a fantastic idea for their shops but not the right people to work out the concept of that idea, to integrate it into the multi-year strategy and to finally get it into the shops. The retailer asked Busines in Person could take over the whole process from A to Z and implement it.
A great and challenging assignment. First, we carried out an analysis to have a critical look from different angles. From there, together with the team, the idea was further firmed up and embedded in the multi-year strategy.
In the meetings, Business in Person created a positive and inspiring atmosphere, by which the team - who at first cautiously responded - became more and more enthusiastic to get started. All departments were involved in the process which created a feeling of 'visibility' and connection. Thanks to clearer briefings and explicitly structured steps the project took off. Through the clearer building blocks there was room during, and after, the introduction to measure, evaluate and adjust. Finally, we built a super backbone together by which the new concept could be launched without any major problems.
The biggest compliment came from the shop personnel who declared that there had never been a case where everything from A to Z had been perfectly done either for the customer or for the shop. User-friendly and clear! This was a project of around six months’ duration in which Business in Person was allowed to lead the project team two days per week.
